The first thing to consider is what body do I want and what type of chassis do I want to put it on. When you build a 1928 to 1931 roadster without fenders and put it on a stock Model A frame, the body extends over the frame and attaches to the frame with tabs attached to the chassis leaving a gap between the frame and the body. |

In 1932 Ford redesigned their chassis with deep frame rails integrating the frame into the car's design. The body attached directly on top of the frame. This gave greater strength and rigidity. This gave your fender less Hot Rod a stylish look. |

Note: A 1928 to 1931 body does not fit on a 1932 chassis |
Pete & Jakes & Brookville Roadster makes a 32 STYLE Chassis. |
The stock Model A Chassis is perfect for an original body or a full fendered build. If you go fenderless we recommend 32 Style Chassis, it has the looks and stability of a 32 chassis but fits 1928-1931origial Roadster Bodies as well as the Broodville Roadsters Model A bodies. |

Leveling the Chassis |

When your frame has been boxed in you need to level it so you can set the proper angel on the rear end as well as the proper degrees of caster on the front axel. The 32 frame is flat on the bottom from 45" to 86"measured from the front cross member back. We placed cross members on the table at the 45" and 86" location. A laser was set up to make sure it was level. You can see the green laxer light at the bottom of the frame. |
